"A company that clearly has talent."
Not Too Tame are a multi award winning theatre company who work in ensemble. We are firmly founded on the belief of ‘Theatre for All’, focusing specifically on creating work that breaks the boundaries of tame, polite theatre and engages those who feel that theatre isn’t for them.
Our unique productions are hopeful and energetic, championing regional identity, community and the resilience of the human spirit. We put our audiences at the very heart of what we do, celebrating voices and stories rarely heard and performing in the venues where you feel most at home. Whatever's going on in life you can be safe in the knowledge that a Not Too Tame show will always provide a heartwarming and electric night out!
Our diverse company members hail from all over the UK and beyond; Bristol, London, Glasgow, Cardiff, Yorkshire, Cheshire all the way to Singapore and Sydney - but our heart is based and originates from Warrington in the North West of England.
The company was founded in 2010 by Artistic Director, Jimmy Fairhurst with a desire to bring accessible, engaging and hopeful work to communities like his home town of Warrington. Jimmy felt that there was huge potential for performing ‘everyman stories’ in an exhilarating and gig like way, that paid tribute the best aspects of rural and urban communities.
"Our work guarantees to entertain, but we also explore some of the difficult, but socially relevant every day dilemmas of modern Britain."
Jimmy Fairhurst - Artistic Director
